Preventing Plugin Conflicts

Most WordPress outages happen after updates. These habits prevent conflicts and keep your site stable.
1. Use a staging site
Test updates on staging first, especially for WooCommerce and payment plugins.
2. Update in small batches
Update one or two plugins at a time and test the critical paths before moving on.
3. Watch PHP and JS errors
Enable logging and use the browser console. Errors will show you exactly what broke.
4. Audit unused plugins
Retire plugins you are not using. Less code means fewer conflicts.
